Hive Home, target date Q3 2022

Welcome

Golden Goose Homes is a housing focused non-profit, 501(c)(3), organization based out of Tacoma, Washington.  While there are several organizations working on housing issues and services, we are project focused.  Specifically, we are looking to pilot new ideas and model scalable solutions that can be used anywhere.

We are not looking to solve homelessness or end generational poverty by ourselves, but to find and light paths so that others may follow.

The Hive Home Project

Inspired by Japanese Capsule hotels, a 'hive' is akin to encapsulating 3 bunk beds together with expansive dividers to provide some personal shelving and storage.  The individual bunks are enclosed with a curtain for privacy and are tall enough to sit up in.  A hive provides 6 bunks per sleeping chamber.

A Hive Home consists of 2-4 private sleeping chambers and a shared communal area with kitchen, living, shower/bath, additional storage and laundry facilities.

By sharing amenities and minimizing the footprint of private spaces, the Hive Home provides a safe, secure place to live at a fraction of the cost of conventional housing options.
